16-year old pressured by parents to give them his savings to support his younger siblings: 'My parents are bad with money'

When you're a kid, you think that adults have it all figured out, especially when, in your own life, you're lucky enough to have adults around who behave in the moral and "just" way that you'd sort of expect an adult to.

Sure, no one is perfect, and we're all limited in some ways by our experiences, perceptions, and preconceived notions. So, while our parents undoubtedly made mistakes, we can rest assured that, for the most part, they were doing their best and had the best intentions—and our best interests—in mind. Of course, we'll all learn at some point or another later on that not everyone is so selfless and moral—sometimes with disastrous consequences—but having a childhood where you do not have to hold your own parents at a weary distance is priceless.

Whenever you read something like this, you're reminded that there are people who go on to have children who definitely don't have it all figured out and often, sadly, don't have the best interests of their children and their futures in mind.
These parents definitely don't, and it's unfortunate that their teen child was forced to turn to this online community to see whether or not they were wrong for not wanting to give their savings to their irresponsible parents who were consistently awful with their spending.
